Furniture We Remove

Every category of residential and commercial furniture — single items and full property clearouts handled with the same crew and the same process.

Sofas and Sectionals

Sofas and sectionals are the most common furniture removal call we get. Large upholstered pieces present real logistical challenges — tight hallways, narrow doorways, and stairwells that weren’t designed for oversized furniture. Sectionals frequently need to be partially disassembled to clear the space safely. We handle that on-site as part of the job.

Mattresses and Box Springs

All sizes — king, queen, full, twin — along with box springs and bed frames. Mattresses are among the most common single-item pickups we handle. Items in good condition are evaluated for donation before disposal. Mattresses that aren’t suitable for donation are routed to a licensed transfer station for responsible disposal.

Bedroom Furniture

Dressers, armoires, wardrobes, nightstands, and full bedroom sets. These pieces are heavy, awkward to grip, and difficult to navigate through residential spaces without the right technique and equipment. We bring both.

Dining Sets and Tables

Full dining sets or individual pieces. Oversized tables that won’t clear doorways intact are disassembled on site before removal — we handle that without additional charge.

Recliners and Upholstered Chairs

Single-item pickups are handled regularly. No job is too small — one recliner, one upholstered chair, one piece that simply needs to go.

Office Furniture

Desks, filing cabinets, bookshelves, conference tables, and office chairs — from home offices and commercial spaces alike. Office furniture removal requires efficiency and the ability to work around an operating schedule when needed.

Outdoor and Patio Furniture

Patio sets, outdoor sofas, lounge chairs, benches, and large planters. Outdoor furniture that has weathered Florida summers is often heavier and more deteriorated than expected — we handle it regardless of condition.

Full Room and Whole-House Furniture Removal

When an entire property needs to be cleared — an estate, a foreclosure, a rental turnover — we handle every room in a single visit when volume allows. One call, one crew, one trip.

What Happens to Your Furniture

This question comes up regularly — particularly on estate cleanout calls — and it deserves a direct answer.

If it can be donated, structurally sound, usable furniture goes to Habitat for Humanity ReStore or local Goodwill locations. We have established drop-off relationships with both. Donation is always the first step before disposal is considered.

If it can’t be donated, pieces with significant damage, heavy soiling, or structural failure go to a licensed transfer station for responsible disposal. We don’t take non-donatable items to donation centers, and we don’t dump usable items at the transfer station. The sorting decision is made at the truck.

For estate families — if you want to know where a specific piece ended up, we can note which items were donated at the time of the job. Let us know before we start, and we’ll document it.

Who We Work With

Homeowners

The most common call — a piece that’s been in the way for too long, a room being renovated, a household downsizing, or a full property clearout before a sale. We work with homeowners on single-item pickups and whole-house furniture removal with the same level of care, regardless of job size.

Property Managers and Landlords

Tenant moveouts frequently leave furniture behind. We clear rental units on the turnaround timeline that property management requires — assessed, approved, and removed in a single visit for most standard residential units. For property managers with multiple properties, we work on a consistent basis — same crew, predictable process.

Estate Executors and Families

Estate properties often contain decades of furniture that needs to be carefully handled before removal. We go through the property methodically, flag items that may have value before they go in the truck, and give families the time they need to make decisions. Nothing leaves without your knowledge.

Real Estate Professionals

Agents working with properties that need to be cleared before listing call us regularly. A home full of furniture can’t be photographed, staged, or shown effectively. We work on listing timelines and prioritize getting the property cleared before the appointment that can’t move.

Businesses and Commercial Properties

Office relocations, retail closures, and commercial renovations all generate furniture that needs to be removed on a schedule. We work around business hours and handle commercial furniture removal with minimal disruption to adjacent operations.

Furniture Removal for Difficult Spaces

Not every furniture removal job is straightforward. Older homes have narrower doorways and tighter hallways than modern construction. Multi-story properties require moving heavy pieces down staircases. Buildings with elevator restrictions limit what can be moved and when.

We’ve worked through all of these scenarios consistently. Partial disassembly when a piece won’t clear a doorway intact. Careful staircase removal for heavy items on upper floors. Coordinating timing around building elevator restrictions for multi-unit properties.

If you have a piece or a property that presents specific logistical challenges, describe it when you contact us. We’d rather understand the complexity up front than discover it on the day of the job.

Furniture Pickup and Hauling Done Right

a couch in a room

Getting rid of old furniture is harder than it should be. Bulk trash won’t take it. Donation centers want you to deliver it yourself. And that couch doesn’t fit in your car.

Dibs On Your Junk handles furniture removal throughout Polk County and the Tampa Bay area. Couches, recliners, mattresses, dining sets, bedroom furniture, office desks – we load it, haul it, and dispose of it properly. Items in good condition get donated to local organizations. Everything else goes to the appropriate facility.

One item or a full house worth – we handle the heavy lifting so you don’t have to.
